  Dating an Ex-JW

  i am dating someone who recently left the jw religion.

  i am not a jw, nor do i align myself with any specific religious organization.. intellectually, it was very difficult for me to accept that he could be absorbed into what i believe is one of the strongest cults of our society, but in time i realized just how easy it was to be absolved in something that you are forced into out of fear.. he's at a point right now where he is reading/researching various literature and discussing his experiences openly *such as boards as these* and i encourage such discussions.

  he does not see himself ever returning to the religion and is even willing to face that he may be shunned from his own family as a result.. here is where i am "stuck".

  his family may accept you, you were not a JW and not baptized, so they might think that they can "change" you and then you can work on him, and get him back in the truth. Well at least this is the way my family tends to think

  here's a funny story!

  so, i posted this on another thread, but i really think it merits its own.. a few nights ago, myself and a beautiful young lady were out to dinner.

  in walked a young brother i used to know quite well, who had gested with me in times past that the only reason he would leave the jws would be to find a good looking wife (shallow i know).

  sure enough, he was accompanied by a group of witnesses which mostly comprised of some of the most horrid faces known to man.

  Exorcism...........

  i have always wondered since i was a kid, why, say catholic priests, can do this, if they arent directed by gods holy spirit.

  and of course we were tought they were false religions, and that its satans work to mislead us.

  do you believe that they can actually cast demons out of someone, or that a person can even become demonized?

  Almost forgot this, a few months ago a priest at mass said that the exorcism of Emily Rose was pretty close to what actually really does happen

  I highly doubt that demons only want to make JW look bad, Catholic priests use the Roman Ritual in order to exorcise demonic spirits, the roman ritual are a set of prayers, that call upon God, Jesus and archangel Michael to cast the demons out, it is usually a long process. The Roman Ritual has exisisted long before JW, and many other American religions, so many new religions seem to attack catholic rituals, because they don't have the same or they need to attack the catholic church to make their religion look good, and probably with the help of Demons called ELDERS!

  Who cleans the KH?

  i just had a flash back to when we used to have to clean the kh.

  each group had to take it in turn to do the cleaning.. in our group we had a bunch of lazy b*****ds, so it was left to us kids and our dad to clean the kh, bogs, etc.

  even my mum used to find some excuse to duck out.. so if meetings, door knocking, studying, praying wasn't enough we also had to spend a couple of hours cleaning every month or so.

  i am here to tell you that i recommend the book 'angels and demons' by dan brown!...that's it!

  if the government had this policy .... given that 100% of the terrorist who did 9/11 were arab, and most terrorist are arab.

  we as a government will racially profile the arab population and visitors to our country.

  spending more time inspecting them, checking them out, and making sure that they are singled out and watched more then any other race.. would this offend you?.

  It would not offend me, although its hard to tell what my race is, I have light olive skin, black hair and black eyes, when ever I fly alone I am always subject to more intense search, I always think that if it offends one thousand people but saves just life then its worth it. I don't mind the extra security.

  i remember that a few months ago, a member gave the reproduction of a publicity corresponding exactly to the picture of a nice swimming girl appearing in the "you can live forever ..." book.. this image is on my website (the first one on the page) :.

  In the last picture, I am not sure if it says this in the caption, but the close up on the hand, the three fingers out and the two fingers against the palm has a meaning of the Trinity, if you look in any religious art, you see the same signs, three fingers extended means the father, the son, and the holy spirit and the two fingers against the palm means heaven and earth.
